Well, after seeing the unnecessary nerf of the HoS CR, I can't imagine this one staying intact. Well, it's a good build for however long it lasts.

its not as mindless as the HoS runs you can die if you dont have 100% focus... they might nerf it becuase of prices of cores

I more or less used the OP's build. I managed to get my destroyer gauntlets in about 6 hours. The drops are anywhere between 2 to 7 cores per run.
Thank you for the video and the build! It saved me a lot of gold!!

I think there is a key difference between this and the HoS CR. The chest run involved greens, golds and precious gems in a relative low amount of time - keg spamming is very easy. Apparently as per ANET update notes, there was an exploit used extensively.
This farming however, does not always entail that you get good drops, cores and of coures you do not get the Brotherhood cloth since the build is only for the first wave. It is not as mindless per say, you do need to move around a lot and using skills too late/early can easily result in a quick death. This run is not the slightest bit easy, timing is essential.
I am sure it will last a while if not for a long time. Congratulations to all those who have managed to get gauntlets already and working towards gauntlets for other characters. Feel free to post your innovations of the build as you see fit, its only fair we all share.

Well I tried the build (and congratulated the thread poster when I encountered him in the game). It is difficult and does involve timing. Spent about 4K setting it up, and about 10 runs before I managed the first wave. I am about 20 attempts and it has taken that lomg for me to have a run of 4 successes.
I think I have teh moves and timing down pretty well now - my biggest issue is not protecting the right side enough. This is where I lose the dragon on occasions (say 1 in every 5 runs) and that pretty much sux. The parties taht come in that side are much more likely to slip aggro - never lost aggro on the left.
On the topic of drops - never seen more than 3 cores. Have to admit there are plenty of guys left sometimes when I get wiped and 3 cores, but never beaten 3 cores even when completing. Also see plenty of dyes but out of about 10 dyes the only one that gave any value was a blue (so not making a fortune there either).
On the 3 times I tested it with 8 man I got 2,3,3 cores for first wave, so I don't know that it is that far over and above 8 man (though you would reckon with dye drops it would eventually get that way). The solo challenge is ceratinly there.

I've been farming the first wave here for a while to get my chaos gaunts. If you set your heroes up as nukers and flag them (and 4 henchies) in the middle of the map, you can come back in ~5min and you'll have 2-3 cores waiting for you.

I'm guessing Great Dwarf Armor doesn't work well for this run? I can't remember if there are Destroyer Mesmers in the 1st wave..

Yes there are. Using enchantments that last a while will most likely get shattered. I will be posting a ranger and a mesmer build soonish.

I finally figured out a surefire way for a noob-farmer like me to beat the 1st wave...basically use your build, except replace Light of Deldrimor with a cheap heal (Mend Body and Soul or Soothing Memories works well). Mess around with the Destroyers w/ Chemical Acid like you suggested, but when the Dwarves fall, run back to the dragon. Stand aways in front of the Dragon so you get all of the agroo, and happy farming! Use your heal as needed, you should clean house!
Thanks for the build!

Actually I think people like you hurt the game more than anyone.Games are about fun.The money is not real.Who cares if someone gets the gauntlets or not.Everyone could have them but me and I could give a s@@@ less.If someone gets enjoyment more power to them.It is about haveing fun.Not a job.I get paid for my work.

Don't you mean yield actually?
It may take less time, but I had difficulty because of VwK recharge and the rit spikes. I find the E\Mo Obs build a lot less risky and easier. Maybe it takes another minute, but I prefer it.

Yup, the first wave of Glint's Challenge. Using Earth magic. Something like Obs flesh, armour of earth, stoneflesh, gylph of quickness, and silver armour. Although it's a bit harder since you have to watch your enchants, and do the timing correctly. I'm waiting for a Dervish build to surface since I play Dervs a lot more then eles.

Oooh, can't wait.
To restate a question asked earlier, wouldn't a Rt/Me with Arcane Echo and VwK be just as effective, if not more?

Well, the OP definately had a good idea, but I think mine is better. Go W/Rit and farm ecto's. I bought my cores and I'm good to go.
